Payout calculation

Your payout is based on the nightly rate you set in your Holidu Host account. However, certain deductions and adjustments may apply. Here’s how it works:

1. Price configured on your Holidu Host Account: This is the nightly rate you’ve set for your property. For example, if you’ve listed your property at €350 per night, this amount forms the basis of your payout.
2. Distribution channel Commission: When your property is advertised on other booking platforms, they charge a commission for their service. This fee is added on top of your set price, so it won’t reduce your payout—only what the guest pays.
3. Discounts: If you’ve set up discounts (e.g., 10% off for stays of 7 nights or more), they will be deducted from your set price before calculating the payout.
4. Holidu Commission: Holidu applies a commission (e.g., 6%) to your base price, which is deducted from your payout.
5. VAT: If applicable, VAT is also deducted from your earnings.

Example Calculation

Here’s an example to illustrate how your final payout is determined:

• Nightly rate (set by you): €350
• Stay duration: 2 nights
• Discount applied (10% for weekly stays): €350 per night → New nightly rate: €315
• Total earnings before deductions: €315 x 2 = €630
• Holidu commission (6%): -€35.91
• VAT (19%): -€33.99
• Final payout: €560.10

Why Was My Payout Lower Than Expected?

Holidu works with a balance concept to avoid back-and-forth transactions. If we have already paid a sum and there are changes to the booking or free cancellations, instead of asking for a deposit, we subtract it from the next payout to streamline the process.
