What should I do if my guest is requesting an invoice?
Holidu provides a commission invoice for you as the homeowner, but if a guest requests an invoice or receipt for their stay, it is your responsibility to provide it. As stated in our agreement, Holidu is not the legal owner of the property, so we cannot issue invoices to guests.
You’ll need to provide the invoice or receipt directly to the guest, and the format will depend on your tax status. However, both documents must reflect the full amount the guest paid through the booking platform.
If you need help creating an invoice, you can find templates online or refer to the example format below. Please note that this is a general draft—you should consult your tax advisor to ensure it meets your specific requirements, as tax regulations vary by country.
To avoid any issues, we recommend providing receipts or invoices only after check-in, once the guest has completed their payment. If a booking is cancelled, some guests may request a cancellation invoice or receipt.
Why Do I Need to Provide the Full Amount on the Invoice or Receipt?
Holidu simplifies transactions by deducting commissions directly from the total amount the guest paid. This means that when we process your payout, we’ve already taken care of the various commissions, so you receive the net amount.
Since Holidu is not the service provider of the property, only the homeowner can provide invoices for the full amount paid by the guest.
We hope you find this guide helpful and straightforward. Thank you for being a valued host
